Hall Refurbishment

After a tremendous amount of work from trustees, committee and volunteers , exploring all the options and their corresponding budgets, a final configuration was approved by the PCC and Buckinghamshire Council, funding obtained from a variety of sources, contractors appointed and work started in February 2024.

The refurbishment completed in time for the summer season – tables outside – and record numbers of visitors to the Velo cafe on Saturday mornings – a significant local amenity and community hub.

New floating floor completed for Worminghall Village Hall in August 2025

Worminghall village hall has been fitted out with a very smart wood effect floating floor to overlay the mixed bag of timber planking, vinyl tiles and cement screed.  The flooring is a Moduleo LayRed 6 mm thick multi-layer bonded vinyl plank with click joints to make a tight fitting finish.  There is a built in cushion underlay which provides improved thermal and sound insulation with a nice springy feel underfoot.  Hopefully a better surface for the indoor bowls club, especially as the annoying hump at the timber / tile transition has been smoothed out.  Also, for all the exercise and dance classes that use the hall.  The work was all completed as planned within a week with timely delivery of materials from the Belgian factory and skilled fitting by specialist floor installer.  The colour chosen was Laurel Oak 51864 which complements the village hall colour scheme very well.

The new floor would not have been possible without the much appreciated financial support provided by the Haddenham & Waddesdon Community Board, the Worminghall Parish Council, the Worminghall Social Committee and of course the Velo Cafe that all together raised the £8k required for the project.
